New York artist Paul Villinski is seemingly obsessed with flight. It has driven him to personally man the cockpits of paragliders and sailplanes and it permeates his artwork which ranges from elegant installations of butterflies made from recycled beer cans and wheelchairs converted to airplanes. The above images are from a 2010 installation called Diaspora in which he crafted dozens of vinyl LP records into a flock of dispersing birds. (via domestica)

Designed by Belgian industrial designer Jens Praet these sleek and textured furniture pieces are constructed from shredded magazines and documents mixed with clear resin. Each of the 12 pieces was made solely from a different magazine including publications like Art in America, Details, and Fast Company. Nine of them are currently on display as part of Praet’s first U.S. solo show, Fossilized, at Industrial Gallery in Washington D.C. through February 26. (via yatzer)

These beautiful pillows by design firm Atelier Punkt in Montréal are constructed from felt and translucent tarp and then stuffed with shredded yellow paper. Each pillow is meant to represent a standard American paper size: letter, legal, and tabloid. If all goes as planned the pillows will soon be available from the Rita Boutique. (via dude craft)
