Amazing Cross-Continental Collab Between Beatboxer ‘Hikakin’ & Legendary Dancer ‘Non-stop’

June 29, 2012

Christopher Jobson

Since flailing around and screaming at my computer upon discovering dancer Non-stop last year I’ve been itching to post another clip of his wobbly, boneless yet exquisitely controlled movements. And there hasn’t been a shortage. He’s since appeared in numerous commercials, performances, and other clips including this wonderful cross-continental collaboration with beatboxer Hikakin. Ballerina by Banksy

May 25, 2012

Christopher Jobson

Banksy recently updated his website with a number of new works that have been making the rounds the last day or so. My favorite new artwork is this simple piece depicting a spray-painted ballerina delicately traversing the string on the back of a picture frame like a tightrope. What fun and thoughtful execution. A Sultry Dance Video for OK Go’s ‘Skyscrapers’

March 31, 2012

Christopher Jobson

Another day, another wonderful music video by OK Go. This new video for Skyscrapers features a sultry montage of dance moves through a series of colorful urban backdrops. The clip was directed and produced by Grammy Award-winning choreographer and director Trish Sie (the lady above) paired with Moti Buchboot. More than many of OK Go’s songs lately, I’m really enjoying this one and might have to pick it up.

Rat vs. Possum: Fat Monk, Directed by Lucy McRae

October 4, 2011

Christopher Jobson

I’ve been wanting to do a post on “body architect” Lucy McRae for quite a while after discovering her somewhat creepy metallic skin and safety pin clips that explore the body’s relationship with artificial skins made from found objects. McRae makes her directorial debut in this carefully choreographed music video for the Australian band Rat vs Possum.

Mind-Blowing Dancing by Marquese “NONSTOP” Scott

September 24, 2011

Christopher Jobson

This takes a moment to get started, but stick with it. I don’t think I’ve seen dancing this incredible hit the internet since clips of David Elsewhere started circulating about a decade ago. This guy achieves simply inhuman movement. Even after watching this twice, I still can’t convince myself the camera isn’t playing tricks. Who is this guy!? (via stellar)

Update: The dancer is 29-year-old Marquese Scott who goes by the moniker NONSTOP. He currently lives in Lawrenceville, Georgia and here he is doing a short interview with himself. Something tells me other people will be interviewing him from now on. The music is Foster The People—Pumped Up Kicks (Butch Clancy Dubstep Remix).

Slow Club: Two Cousins

July 18, 2011

Christopher Jobson

A new video for Slow Club from their forthcoming album out in September, featuring dancers Ryan Francois and Remy Kouame performing an homage to dancers Al Minns and Leon James. The music in no way “matches” the dancing, and yet creates such a beautiful juxtaposition. (via cliptip)
