Workshop: Paper Scales as Texture with Hollie Chastain

August 20, 2022

Join us for a virtual workshop on the art of paper scaling.

Artist Hollie Chastain joins Colossal for a virtual workshop on paper scaling, or the process of cutting small, rounded forms from the humble material. During our hour-long session, Chastain will teach techniques for adding texture, shadow, and dimension to both a solid color and portrait and offer tips and additional modifications to use on future projects.

Register here (SOLD OUT), and if you’re a Colossal Member, be sure to use the code in your account for $5 off. Ten percent of all proceeds will be donated to the Chicago Coalition for the Homeless.

Chastain is a mixed-media artist and illustrator working in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Coming from both a graphic design and studio art background, she creates work with a storytelling quality, mixing found materials, strong graphic elements, and modern palettes. As well as teaching workshops across the country, she maintains a home studio producing both personal work and client work. Her first book, If You Can Cut You Can Collage, was released in November 2017 through Quarto Publishing.
