Mother & Child Vol. II Raises over $15,000 to Support Separated Immigrant Families

A heartfelt thanks to the 60+ contributing artists and hundreds of attendees all helped make Mother & Child Vol. II a huge success. The benefit gallery show, which we co-produced with Sugarlift, has raised over $15,000 and counting. 100% of proceeds will be split between three non-profits who provide direct aid and legal support to separated children and families at the U.S./Mexico Border. New Delicate Cut Paper Flowers by Maude White

Paper-cutting artist Maude White (previously) continues to astound us with her painstaking illustrations cut from single sheets of paper. Limited to only negative and positive space, she explores poetic compositions of line and shape as she renders each piece with a knife. White is currently working on a series of blooms as part of an upcoming exhibition at Buffalo Arts Studio, and if you want to learn a bit more about her process she recently did an interview over on Block Club.

Cut Paper Illustrations by Maude White

New York-based artist Maude White (previously) continues to create beautifully rendered illustrations with cut paper, creating dozens of new pieces since we explored her work this summer. White relies heavily on thin lines and negative space to create each illustration, a subtractive process with no room for error; a single bad cut could be fatal to a piece. Her latest series titled What's Left on the Farm involves portraits of women with objects in their hair. White currently has work in an exhibition at Peter & Mary Ann Vogt Gallery in Buffalo.
