Make This Better

December 14, 2010

Christopher Jobson

The folks over at Broken City Lab have created this great installation that will be temporarily installed in locations around Ontario to generate conversations and awareness around areas of urban blight. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve visited local neighborhood blogs here in Chicago to read through the litany of armchair urban planners complaining about what politician or neighborhood group is responsible for fixing which square foot of what block. It’s so uplifting to see art and a little creativity being used as a tool to solve city problems.

Posters Printed with Oil from the BP Spill

October 26, 2010

Christopher Jobson

Anthony Burrill (previously) has designed a poster that’s being screenprinted with oil salvaged from the BP spill.

Anthony Burrill has made a new series of limited-edition posters, printed in BP oil from the ecological disaster in the Gulf of Mexico. Profits go to the ‘Coalition to Restore Coastal Louisiana’. The oil was collected direct from the polluted beaches of Grand Isle, Louisiana.
