Ballpoint Barber: A Stop-Motion Reverse Haircut by Peter Simon

The ludicrous battle of haircut/shaving videos continues with an new stop-motion short from Peter Simon that was inspired by an old magnetic Wooly Willy toy. Simon previously created a video called Trim back in 2011 which might have been inspiration for Ben Garvin’s Magic Beard last month. Do we have a new genre on our hands? Music by Paul Otteson.

The Glue Society Imagines an Art Movement Centered on Excess Called "Moreing"

In this video from the Glue Society (previously here and here) we learn about a new art movement focused on possessing multiples of the same object. This had me smiling all the way through. The clip was made as a promotional effort for Boost chocolate bars, but stands up surprisingly well on its own. Happy Friday.

Unlikely: The Impossible and Improbable Objects of Giuseppe Colarusso

In this ongoing series titled Unlikely, artist and photographer Giuseppe Colarusso imagines bizarre and humorous objects, each of which is either technically impossible, improbable, or simply useless in its proposed design. Colarusso tells me via email that many of the pieces he fabricates himself, however some are digitally created in Photoshop. So what’s the point? He hopes each image will make you stop, think and hopefully bring a smile to your face, which is definitely a worthy cause. Also, I would pay top dollar for that spray paint can with adjustable hue sliders, so could somebody make that? See some 50+ additional concepts over on his website. (via Bored Panda)

Photographer Imagines What the Models of Famous Paintings Looked Like

In her Real Life Models series 19-year-old Hungarian photographer Flora Borsi imagines what the models of contorted and skewed paintings must have looked like if they were distorted in real life. Through some pretty hilarious photo manipulation Borsi examines the models for paintings by Kees van Dongen, Rudolf Hausner, and Picasso among others. The series is somewhat similar to photographer Eugenio Recuenco who re-imagined Picasso’s paintings as modern day fashion models. Several of Borsi’s works are now available as prints over on Saatchi Online.

Artist Hong Yi Plays with her Food for 30 Days

For almost every day last month Malaysian artist/architect Hong Yi (who often goes by the nickname Red) created a fun illustration made with common (and occasionally not so common) food. Her parameters were simple: the image had to be comprised entirely of food and the only backdrop could be a white plate. With that in mind Yi set out to create landscapes, animals, homages to pop culture, and even a multi-frame telling of the three little pigs. The project, which still appears to be ongoing, has been documented heavily around the web, but if you haven’t seen it all head over to her Facebook and read an interview on designboom.
