Can You Find the Dog in Each of these Photos? Meet Momo, the Most Elusive Puppy on Instagram

Ontario-based graphic designer Andrew Knapp noticed that his 4.5 year old border collie, Momo, would always hide when fetching sticks instead of dutifully returning them. After photographing a few of the shots Knapp hatched an idea for a series of urban and rural landscapes with the dog hiding somewhere in the frame. He’s a well-camouflaged pup, definitely the ‘Where’s Waldo’ of the internet. You can follow Momo’s hide and seek adventures at GoFindMomo.com and on Instagram. (thnx, kate!)

The Stunning Glaciers and Icebergs of Greenland Photographed by Jan Erik Waider

Nuremberg-based graphic designer and photographer Jan Erik Waider has traveled on numerous expeditions north to Greenland, Iceland, Scotland, and the Faroe Islands off Denmark where he shot these beautifully surreal landscapes of icebergs, glaciers and cliffs. I first stumbled onto his Icebergs in Fog series shot earlier this year in Ilulissat and Disko Bay in Greeland and then found his website where you can see all of these photographs in much higher resolution, really, go look, just incredible work. Despite the foreboding, harsh climate depicted in these photographs Waider seems to transform the landscapes into something strangely peaceful and idyllic. The Surreal, Infrared Photography of David Keochkerian

These infrared photographs taken by France-based photographer David Keochkerian look like bizarre, saturated landscapes created from a Dr. Seuss illustration. Seasons seem reversed, with white trees appearing in spring, and bushes are transformed into something that looks like fragile blades of bubble gum. You can see much more on 500px, and Keochkerian tells me some images are available as limited edition prints if you contact him directly.

Forests Drenched in Light and Fog by Boguslaw Strempel

In that brief window of time when the foggy remnants of night clash with the rays of early morning sun, photographer Boguslaw Strempel positions himself atop high mountain peaks to capture these beautiful landscapes around Poland and the Czech Republic. From the Edge of Finland: New Photos by Mikko Lagerstedt

Photographer Mikko Lagerstedt first taught himself to use a camera in 2008 and has since fallen in love with the medium, having captured hundreds of dreamlike images of the Finnish landscape he calls home. This latest body of work called Edge was taken exclusively in Finland over the last few weeks and captures perfectly his somewhat unsettling approach to landscape photography that can be equal parts beautiful and just plain eerie, with strange figures lurking just on the horizon. The Mysterious Polaroids of Bastian Kalous

Generally when I think of Polaroid photographs I’m reminded of old family snapshots, perhaps a camera passed around close-quarters at a party, or a few artistic captures of flowers, textures or an old beat-up vehicle. Photographer Bastian Kalous has a very different approach, carrying his Polaroid camera around the world into the sweeping vistas of the Grand Canyon, the valleys surrounding the Grand Tetons, and other expanses of forests and mountains near his home in Freyung, a town in Bavaria, Germany. These are locations rarely explored with instant film these days, and I find his work both refreshing and mysterious. Luckily he has several hundred photos to explore, and I strongly urge you to do so.
