Abstract Claymation Videos by Romane Granger Capture the Small Details of Ocean Life

In a pair of teaser videos for singer Stevanna Jackson, animator Romane Granger (previously) uses carefully modeled clay to suggest the complex ecosystem of life on the ocean’s floor. In Ocean Blues #1 and #2, the coils and folds of clay shift in tune with Jackson’s music as waves, flower-like designs and human characters emerge from the sea. Granger is an animation student at L’École nationale supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris. You can see more of her work on Vimeo and Instagram.

Plastic Infinite: A 7″ Psychedelic Zoetropic Vinyl Record by Sculpture

Plastic Infinite is a 7″ animated picture disc by UK-based duo Sculpture made to accompany a new track by the same name. Created like a zoetrope, the disc animates when played under a strobe light or filmed at 25fps. Pick one up here. (via Vimeo Staff Picks)

Animated Music Video Filmed Through a Band’s Breath in Freezing Temperatures by Wriggles & Robins

Innovative directing duo Matt Robinson and Tom Wrigglesworth of Wriggles & Robins (previously) just released this great new music video for the band Travis. The team shot at below freezing temperatures and filmed projected animations that could only be seen when the four band members would breath through the cold air. Although subtle, there are some amazing sequences that really make this worth watching all the way through. You might remember Wriggles & Robins’s life drawing video from a few months ago.
