Bang Your Own Drum: Identity Work by The Consult

April 26, 2011

Christopher Jobson

It’s been a long, long time since I’ve posted any identity projects and I’m happy to break that drought with this clever identity work by The Consult for communications firm Bang Your Own Drum. The business cards are embedded with a taught surface suitable for drumming with a dual-purpose drum stick pencil. (via designspiration)

Wooden business card case

April 10, 2011

Christopher Jobson

These oak business card cases are handmade by Masakage Tanno in Asahikawa, Japan exclusively for the Scandinavian shop Mjolk. In February the team at Mjolk took a trip to Studio Tanno where they shot photos of his woodworking studio that revealed an incredibly quality of craftsmanship, something that’s quite rare these days. I’m a sucker for physical type, and this project is no exception. Design student Erik Berger made this fun typeface out of a pound of rubber bands. (via typegoodness)

Love the design of these awesome sushi memo pads. They’re available here for about $21, but you’ll need to know Japanese. Anyone want to know Japanese for me? (via matomeno)

I’m really enjoying the objects available in the Sebastian Bergne online shop which just launched last December. Lots of fantastic things for the home and kitchen, as well as some playful stuff too. Sebastian Bergne is a multidisciplinary design firm out of London.

Christopher Jobson

The Adapter was designed by Felix Ng, the art director at SILNT and is available at the FARM Online Store (which has more cool stuff that my mind is able to comprehend this early in the morning).
