Kylli Sparre’s Surreal Conceptual Photography Influenced by Dance

After years of training to become a professional ballet dancer, artist Kylli Sparre realized it wasn’t the path for her and instead channeled passion for dance into photography and image manipulation. The influence of her past career is immediately apparent when viewing her conceptual photographs that depict posed figures, taunt with energy, at the peak of choreographed motion. Deadpan Comedy: Surreal Drawing of a Dystopian Future by Samuel Gomez

While visiting ArtPrize this weekend I was captivated by this amazing graphite and ink drawing by New York artist Samuel Gomez. The surreal triptych titled Deadpan Comedy measures 18 x 5 feet and is meant as commentary on the negative effects of corporations and capitalism. Even standing in front of it I found it nearly impossible to identify every single detail as the piece is so dense with imagery and symbolism. The Fantastic Imagination of Illustrator Simón Prades

Freelance illustrator and graphic designer Simón Prades says that he prefers to work with analog mediums such ink, pencil and watercolor to help express his fantastic imagination that explores ideas of nature, memory, and dreams. Prades lives and works in Saarbrücken, Germany and teaches illustration at the university of applied sciences in Trier. You can find more of his work over on Behance. Digital Artworks by Adam Martinakis Explore Photo Realistic Surrealism

Digital artist Adam Martinakis (previously) was born Poland in 1972 and currently lives and works in in Cannock, UK. His computer-generated artworks employ aspects of photorealism and surrealism to explore the human condition which he says results in a “mixture of post-fantasy futurism and abstract symbolism”. Above are a handful of works from the last year or so, several of which were on view at The Lloyd Gill Gallery through last week as part of a group show titled Metaphysical Objectivity in Comparison to Realism. Relativity: Surreal Paintings of Indecision and Uncertainty by Alex Hall

After graduating college Nashville-based artist Alex Hall found himself on an uncertain path, overwhelmed and unsure of what was going to happen next. In an attempt to visualize his emotions and inner turmoil he set about creating a series of surreal oil paintings titled Relativity depicting anonymous people in similar forms of free-fall and indecision. Just looking at these images I believe Hall has an extremely promising career ahead of him. All of his new works are currently available as giclee art prints, and if you own a gallery I might consider getting in touch with him.
