Wrocław-based tattoo artist Joanna Swirska inks carefully considered depictions of animals tinged with psychedelic splashes of color. Her most common subject is the humble feline which seems to make an appearance in nearly half of her works which run the gamut from graceful to fantastically absurd. Mesmerizing New Serpentine Tattoos by Mirko Sata

June 26, 2017

Christopher Jobson

Milan-based tattoo artist Mirko Sata (previously) has mastered the art of inking snakes, creating elaborate tangles of scales and tails that wrap around the arms and legs of his clients. Sata frequently works with opposing color schemes, creating novel contrasts between black and white or red and green in the otherwise minimalist line-based pieces. He’s also incorporated various floral motifs in place of the snake’s scales in a number of recent pieces. You can follow more of his work on Instagram.

New Minimalistic Single Line Tattoos by Mo Ganji

May 12, 2017

Christopher Jobson

With a single delicate black line, Berlin-based tattoo artist Mo Ganji (previously) creates the faces of intertwined portraits, the details of flying birds, and the forms of running animals. Each tattoo relies on an unbroken line that varies only slightly in thickness as it weaves in and out of each image, sometimes accompanied by a few accent dots. Seen here is a collection of pieces from the last year, and Ganji shares more new works on Instagram.

Colorful Cubist Tattoos Inked by Mike Boyd

March 25, 2017

Kate Sierzputowski

London-based tattoo artist Mike Boyd is a dedicated traveler, viewing the act as a necessary component to developing his style of cubist-focused tattoos. His bright and angular work features Picasso-like faces and segmented bodies, impactful tattoos that make it difficult to discern skin from canvas.

In case you aren’t interested in making a lifetime commitment to one of Boyd’s pieces, he has a series of limited edition prints available on his website. You can see more of his permanent work, as well as keep updated on his travels to various tattoo studios, on his Instagram. (via Illusion)

Inspired by the botanical specimens she finds while walking through parks and gardens on her frequent travels, tattoo artist Pis Saro creates elegant plant portraits on the legs, arms, and spines of her international clients. Designed directly from nature, Saro’s works are nearly indistinguishable from the plants she sketches, often holding each side-by-side in the beautifully composed images she shares frequently on Instagram.

This year Saro’s tattoo work has taken her to Turkey, Lebanon, Germany, Holland, the Czech Republic, and Switzerland. You can see more of her travels, inspirations, and sketches on her Instagram and Facebook. (via My Modern Met)
