A Canopy of 1,100 Umbrellas Above the 2015 Habitare Design Fair in Finland
To transform the interior of the Ahead Arena at the 2015 Habitare Design Fair in Finland (part of Helsinki Design Week), environmental artist Kaisa Berry and creative director Timo Berry of BOTH conceived of this lighter-than-air umbrella cloud suspended above a main stage. The duo used 1,1000 white umbrellas hung at various intervals, somewhat like similar outdoor installations we’ve seen in Portugal. The installation served as a backdrop for speaking events as well as live performances. You can see a few more views in this image search. (via Wallpaper)

OK Go’s Latest Music Video Features Hundreds of Umbrella-Wielding Dancers
Only four months after their music video for the “The Writing’s on the Wall” filled with optical illusions, OK Go are back with yet another meticulously choreographed dance video for “I Won’t Let You Down.” Filmed in Japan, this new clip features more than a few umbrellas, Honda UNI-CUB personal vehicles (a kind of tiny robo scooter), and a cast of hundreds. Make sure to stick around for the final shot, hard to believe it’s even real, but knowing OK Go, it certainly is.

A Colorful Canopy of Umbrellas Returns to the Streets of Agueda, Portugal
Aaaaaand the umbrellas are back in Agueda, Portugal. Although the installation doesn’t differ much from last year, the colors have changed a bit for this year’s Agitagueda art festival. Photographer Patrícia Almeida captured some great shots this year, many more of which you can see here. (via bored panda)

A Canopy of Colorful Umbrellas Spotted in Portugal
This beautiful installation of umbrellas was recently spotted in Águeda, Portugal by photographer Patrícia Almeida. Almost nothing is known about the artist behind the project or its significance, but it’s impossible to deny the joy caused by taking a stroll in the shadowy rainbow created by hundreds of parasols suspended over this public walkway. It reminds be of Garth Britzman’s bottle carport. (via my modern met)
